Discovery in a garden

I have been exploring gardens these past few years and paying attention to learn how a garden grows on the ground of remembrance in story 3. Who creates the garden? Where is the garden? What will grow? What will unfold?

Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC, revealed some clues. None were expected.  Most were outside the garden’s wall.

I encountered the “Inscription for a Garden Gate” near the end of of my visit to Brookgreen. The timing of this discovery made me pause without any prompting and marvel. The placement of this poem isn’t near any entrance but in a hideaway garden. Those who meander with curiosity and pay attention will find it. I was glad a cluster of pink azaleas led me into me to this space.

I especially appreciate her gentle encouragement. Pause, friend, …

That is the timeless wisdom whispering (to us) now.  I have heard this resonate whisper before.  (“Remember them.”) Etched words in stone whispering wisdom.  Easily missed yet an effortless gift received to anyone taking the effort to read.
