About Jean

Stockholm Public Library_Sweden

I like to write about what I learn instead of writing about what I know.  My desire to learn has opened many doors and led to unexpected places in my life and my career.

My professional work focuses on content strategy and development, instructional design, digital storytelling and e-learning.

I utilized my knowledge and experience in print and online media to create LaStella Group and self-publish “RESURGAM Standing on the Ground of Remembrance.” The book is the output of many creative meanders from the first half of my life. I didn’t frame it that way ten years ago, but as I learn more about life and death, and the cycle of the seasons of life, I’m beginning to see the bigger picture. The ground of remembrance has unfolded into a trilogy and the creative meander is part of the discovery process.

I decided in the spring of 2019 to develop creative meander after auditing all the source material I had gathered during the long-distance caregiving years (2010-2018) and personal observations.  During the audit, I recognized the parts and relationships were creating something new. I saw patterns and connections. The pandemic of 2020 seemed to upend the growth as it swept away plans and routines, yet the creative process continued in different ways: the gift of time was available. There was space, which at times often felt like too much space in 2020-2022.

2025 provided the enough distance to view the track of discovery since the pandemic. It seemed like a good time to begin again.  The focus continues to be refined, but that’s part of the discovery process and the creative meander. It is both a practice-in-process and a work-in-process.
