Find a field of sunflowers

Come walk with me into the field of sunflowers” – Mary Oliver

My friend encountered a field of sunflowers and shared a few photos. When I read Mary Oliver’s quote, a field of sunflowers seemed like a great summer kick off. So, here’s to creative meanders in nature and gardens, encountering unexpected fields of beauty and “the hope of suggestion.”

From Mary Oliver: “I had to go out in the world and see it and hear it and react to it before I knew who I was, what I was, and what I wanted to be….

I walk, all day, across the heaven verging field.

And whoever thinks these are worthy words I am writing down is kind. Writing is neither vibrant life nor docile artifact but a text that would put all its money on the hope of suggestion. ‘Come walk with me into the field of sunflowers’ is a better line than anything you will find here, and the sunflowers themselves are far more wonderful than any words about them.

May your summer be fruitful and filled with wonder.
